This is Shut Up and Choose. Let's do this Now. Your host, jonathan Ressler.

Jonathan:

Hey, welcome back to Shut Up and Choose. I'm Jonathan Ressler, your host, and this is what I would call an emergency PSA public service announcement. To all you fat motherfuckers out there. All I can say is oh, the joys of listening to people whine about their weight loss struggles. Today, I had the distinct pleasure of being told that I wasn't respecting their struggle because I had the audacity to suggest that losing weight is as simple as making a choice. This was a conversation I was having on Reddit. The guy who told me he's been struggling his whole life and you know I wasn't respecting his struggle. Give me a fucking break restricting your struggle, you fat fuck. You're lazy as shit. So, yeah, you heard it right. I'm telling you losing weight is a choice, but apparently that's too much for some people to handle. So let me get one thing straight. Okay, it's 100% your fault if you're overweight or if you're fat or if you're obese. That's it. I said it.

Jonathan:

If you can't seem to shut your mouth and make the choice to eat the right foods, then what do you expect? Like a magical weight loss fairy or something to come down and sprinkle some pixie weight loss dust on you? Come on, please. You know what it takes. So we all know what we should be eating. There's no rocket science here. It's fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and sometimes you can sprinkle in some shit to feed your soul. But does any of that ring a bell? But no. You, fat boy, choose, either consciously or unconsciously, to eat all the wrong things. How convenient is that? Then you have the nerve to play the victim card and act like the universe is conspiring against your weight loss efforts. Come on, give me a break. Here's a news flash. The only thing conspiring against you is your own lack of commitment to reach your desires. It's all on you, fat boy. So stop being weak. You're fat because of your choices.

Jonathan:

It's that simple Diets are just a band-aid on a much bigger problem, which is your inability to make better choices. To make better choices, you don't need an app to count your calories or some one-size-fits-all meal plan that you could, kind of, you know, get yourself into and spoon-feed you what someone else thinks you should be eating. What you need is a fucking reality check. And let's talk about the weight loss industry for a second. It's designed for the weak and lazy. Yep, I said that too. It thrives on people's desperation and laziness and offers a quick fix and some miracle solutions that don't address the real issue, which, again, is your inability to make smart choices. You don't need the latest fad diet. You don't need a fancy gym membership. You sure as shit don't need some high-priced personal trainer. What you need is the power of your mind to make better decisions. You don't need discipline and willpower I went fucking crazy when I said that but you don't need discipline and willpower. You need to make better choices.

Jonathan:

Imagine that it's not about starving yourself or punishing your body. It's about making conscious, intelligent choices about what you put in your mouth. It's about being present. It's about thinking about what you're eating your mouth. It's about being present. It's about thinking about what you're eating. You know what to eat, but oh, that's too hard for some people. They're victims. It's not their fault what they put in their mouth. Whose fault is it?

Jonathan:

So it's a lot easier to buy into the weight loss industry's bullshit and spend money on products that promise the world but deliver rhode island and no, no offense to Rhode Island, by the way. So here's the kicker right Once you start making these small smart choices, they build on one another. They did for me, they did. I mean it was incredible how easy. And he went nuts when I said it's easy. It's not easy, it's hard work, I agree, but it's simple. But once you start making those small smart choices, it's like the snowball effect the more good choices you make, the easier it becomes to continue making them. Once I started seeing results, I was like, damn, hey, this is work. I'm going to keep making these small smart choices because it works. So you start out with one smart choice and then another and before you know it, you're consistently making better choices every day, all day, all the time. But, more importantly, you start eating better and you're feeling better. Yeah, the progress is gradual, but it's real and, most importantly, it's sustainable. So magic drugs? They're not the answer. You know how I feel about all those magic drugs.

Jonathan:

Harnessing the power of your mind is the only way to lose weight. Yes, I said it before, it's hard work and yes, it takes time. But guess what? Anything worth having requires hard work and takes time. I mean, we all know that. I mean, just don't expect a quick fix that's sustainable, because a sustainable quick fix doesn't exist. What exists is your ability to make better choices consistently, day in and day out. Oh and, by the way, don't respond with this tired old mantra that the only way to lose weight is to consume fewer calories than we burn. We all know that the issue isn't that knowledge, it's the execution against that. Yeah, we all know Eat less calories, you'll lose weight. I mean, come on, that's plain and simple. It's about making small, smart choices every day, consistently, and letting them compound over time.

Jonathan:

So here's a message for all you fucking excuse makers out there Save your breath. Instead of wasting time complaining about how hard it is to lose weight, why not use that energy to actually do something about it? I'm, you know, just saying Stop bitching and moaning, stop making excuses. Actually do something. So, if you're tired of being overweight, stop making excuses, shut up and make better choices, take responsibility for your actions and watch how quickly things change. It's not about finding the perfect diet or exercise plan. It's about making a series of better choices every day. Yes, it's not glamorous and it's not easy, but it's the truth.

Jonathan:

So the next time you feel the urge to complain about your weight or tell me that my method doesn't work or it's irresponsible which is what this asshole told me today it's irresponsible, right? Telling people to make small, smart choices is irresponsible. Just remember this asshole told me today it's irresponsible. Right, telling people to make small, smart choices is irresponsible. Just remember this next time you complain. You're the fucking problem, but the good news is you're the solution, if you have the balls to embrace it, own it and, most importantly, do something about it. I feel better now that I got that off my chest. This has been Jonathan Ressler, the host of Shut Up and Choose, giving a public service announcement to all. The lazy excuse making fat bucks out there.
